1ST DAY:

MARRAKECH-TELOUATE-AIT BEN HADDOU (220 KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

Your 7-Day private tour to explore the Sahara starts at 08:00 AM with a pick up from your accommodation in Marrakech. Then we drive towards Ouarzazate via a famous Tizi-n-Tichka pass (2260 meters) with far-reaching views across the mountains to visit the traditional high Atlas Berber Telouate Kasbah. After exploration of the kasbah, enjoy your lunch before we continue the ride towards the Ounila valley where we take the old route heading to the famous kasbah of Ait Benhaddou which is one of Morocco’s most iconic sites. It was once an important stop of caravans passing through as they carried salt across the Sahara returning with gold, ivory, and slaves. Today it becomes a World Heritage Site and has a long list of films and TV credits including Lawrance of Arabia and Gladiator. We stop to explore the kasbah and spend the first night at the hotel opposite to the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.

2ND DAY:

AIT BEN HADDOU-OUARZAZATE-TINGHIR (270 KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

After breakfast, we will start the journey to the desert gate of Ouarzazate. Then we hit the road exploring so many stunning Kasbahs to the Zagora palm grove. Then another stop at the roses valley and explore the orange blossom water cooperatives. Before the arrival of Tinghir, we will enjoy the wonderful shape of the Dades gorges. After this inspiring journey, overnight at Todgha gorge’s hotel.

3RD DAY:

TINGHIR-RRISSANI-MERZOUGA (240 KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

The third day starts with a traditional nomad breakfast and a chance to admire the sunrise riding camels. We then drive southeast across the Anti-Atlas mountains. Stop for lunch at Arfoud, this region is rich geologically due to the popularity of fossils and marbles. Afterward, we will head to Erg Chebbi dunes in the Merzouga Sahara desert. Once you arrive at the Dunes of Erg Chebbi, you will take a camel ride for 1h.30 min, while watching the sunset, to get to the camp in the oasis. Savour traditional dinner and Spend the night in the bivouac at Merzouga Sahara dunes under nomadic tents or outside under shooting stars. Play drums with camel drivers.

4TH DAY:

MERZOUGA-AGDEZ (300 KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

Wake early and climb the sand dunes to watch the beautiful sunrise. Pack-up the camels and trek back to the dune line, where you will shower and breakfast at the hotel. Drive on to Ouarzazate via Rissani, where you can stop and visit its Traditional Souks, which are considered the largest in southern Morocco. Continue through the beautiful Draa valley with its millions of palm trees. In the evening arrive Ouarzazate and check into a hotel or a nomadic Berber tent.

5TH DAY:

AGDEZ-ZAGORA-M’HAMID (230 KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

We start with a morning wake-up to watch the sunrise over the desert dunes. Then, return to the bivouac for breakfast, we will leave toward Zagora through the Draa valley. we are going to enjoy the walk and explore the beauty of the palm grove of Amezzrou followed by a stop for lunch. Zagora city is the emblem of the Moroccan desert and the access point to Mhamid El Ghizlane. On arrival, we will have the chance to visit one of the finest libraries in the country and check some of the oldest preserved works of the eleventh century. Tamggroute also granted its reputation through art and pottery. Next, you will enjoy a camel ride on the dunes of Erg Lihoudi, which will dazzle you and a rather exceptional sunset. You will spend the night in a bivouac in full Sahara, after a traditional dinner and a lively evening around the campfire.

6TH DAY:

M’HAMID-OUARZAZATE (280 KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

After we enjoyed the warmth of the sunrise, we will head to Agdz through the Draa valley, and from there we will explore the palms oasis and the Tamnougalte Kasbah, where we will get to the Anti-Atlas through the Tizi-n-Tanfift pass. At the sunset, we go for a camel ride before we savor dinner and spend the night at Ouarzazate.

7TH DAY:

Ouarzazat – High Atlas – Tizi-n-Tichka – Marrakech. (220KM / 5 HOURS DRIVE):

Enjoy a typical Berber breakfast. Before we head to Marrakech, you will have free time to discover this beautiful valley lined with palm groves, fields, and beautiful Kasbahs and Ksours built adobe. Lunch in Tizi-n-Tichka famous pass and you resume the way back to Marrakech crossing the Berber villages and high mountains of the Atlas. We will arrive at Marrakech at around 7 PM. (Drop off at your accommodation in Marrakech is included).
